Alltel Presents New Mobile Phones

The wireless carrier in the US, Alltel Wireless has introduced several new phones to its consumers: the Scoop by LG Electronics, the Muse by Samsung mobile, and the Blackberry Pearl 8130.

The Scoop by LG Electronics is a mobile phone whose features are concentrated on text messaging rather than calling. It is equipped with a Qwerty keyboard to allow for ease in keying in letters for sending messages. It is also equipped with instant messaging that is similar to chatting online wherein Alltel subscribers are given the opportunity to use the Yahoo! Messenger software and AOL Instant Messenger software which is preloaded into the mobile phone. The LG Scoop cellular phone also has support for the Axcess Voice2TXT service by Alltel Wireless. This service allows the users to convert their voice mails that they have just received into text messages and places them into the text inbox of the LG Scoop.

The Samsung Muse . This is not just a wireless phone but a music provider as well. Its features include having a music key that is dedicated for creating unique ring tones, an XM Radio Mobile, music that is powered by Celltop, as well as an Mp3 player. Music lovers will go gaga over the Samsung Muse with all its features directed on providing a unique music experience. This cell phone is of the clamshell type and also includes several multimedia features, including a camera with 2-megapixel capabilities, a video camera, Bluetooth connectivity and a Global Positioning System feature which is provided by the Axcess Mobile Guide application used for navigation, by providing maps and directions.

For those who want a smartphone, Alltel presents the Blackberry Pearl 8130 that comes in red and black colors. This smart phone also boasts of several features including a camera with 2 megapixel capabilities as well as the capacity to capture videos. The Blackberry Pearl 8130 also has a media player that can actually play music, memory that can be expanded, Bluetooth connectivity, a trackball for ease in navigation of the phone features, and a GPS application for navigations outside the mobile phone. It also includes text messaging, Internet browsing, a calendar, task list, memo pad, address book and an alarm clock. This mobile phone also has the ability to respond to your voice to dial specific numbers. With petite dimensions of approximately 4” by 2” by 1”, the Blackberry Pearl 8130 is quite handy to have. It also has a Qwerty keyboard for ease in typing out words for text messaging. It is compatible for hearing aids and it can provide the user of 220 minutes of talk time.

These three phones can be availed of at all retail stores of Alltell as well as online at its website during the first quarter of 2008. There was no pricing available for the first two mobile phones although the Blackberry Pearl 8130 costs a net price of $149.99 after a mail in rebate of $100.00 and a contract of two years.
