Amp’d Mobile MVNO Shutting Down - But When?

We all know Amp'd Mobile is going, the question is when? A FAQ page on Ampd's website details the closure and the options available to current subscribers. According to the page, Amp'd will be 'potentially' suspending US operations on July 31, with customer service unavailable after July 23.

Amp'd Users Should Port Numbers NOW

Amp'd Mobile's page encourages users to port their phone number to another carrier, with port out requests expected to take 24 hours to process. A mass text message to customers said July 23rd may be the final day to accomplish this (which was yesterday). Providing the user's chosen carrier uses a CDMA network, Amp'd customers will be able to take their phones with them, and so long as the phone's memory card is retained, all purchased content will continue to be available.

Customers of Amp'd Mobile that have an unpaid credit balance, rebate, or refund due will need to file a claim though Epiq Systems, the appointed claim administrator for Amp'd Mobile. The Amp'd website points to the page at http://chapter11.epiqsystems.com/AMI for more information on filing a claim.
