AT&T Fully Acquires Easterbrooke Cellular Corporation Assets in West Virginia

AT&T made a major announcement on January 2, 2008 about its full acquisition of all the assets of Easterbrooke Cellular Corporation. These assets include licenses, network assets, and wireless subscribers. Easterbrooke Cellular Corporation is a wireless communications company located in West Virginia using the Cellular One brand.



By acquiring all of the assets of Easterbrooke’ Cellular Corporation, AT&T will be able to deliver a wider wireless coverage to their customers in West Virginia. This customer base includes more than 19,000 wireless subscribers of Easterbrooke. This will also complement AT&T’s already existing network in the area. AT&T’s subscribers will be able to get wider in-coverage in West Virginia. Easterbrooke’s subscribers will be able to access AT&T’s nationwide network, services, and products in the first quarter of 2008.

After AT&T incorporates and makes the necessary improvements of Easterbrooke’s wireless networks, Easterbrooke’s subscribers will be able to migrate to AT&T’s rate plans free of charge. Other than that, their current plans will still be honored by AT&T. Those who migrated will be able to take advantage of the Rollover® minutes. This great service which is only from AT&T allows their customers to still utilize their remaining minutes to the next month for up to a year. They will also have free mobile to mobile calls with the rest of AT&T’s wireless customers nationwide.

The complete acquisition of Easterbrooke’s assets came about after a review process duly approved by or filings with the state of West Virginia, the Department of Justice, and the Federal Communications Commission.
