AT&T for quite some time holds the privilege of being the exclusive distributor of one of the hottest cell phone in the market- the iPhone from Apple Inc. The iPhone is known as the ultimate gadget- the“phone of all phones”. The iPhone combined the communication capabilities of a mobile phone (with voice calls and text messaging), the power of mobile Internet and the fun and entertainment of an iPod.

Come first week of May 2008, Vodafone announced the company’s plan to distribute and offer iPhone to the global market by the end of the year. The company has maintained communication with Apple Inc, makers of the iPhone, and later confirmed a signed agreement between the two companies about Vodafone’s distributorship of the iPhone. Vodafone subscribers in selected countries can soon avail of the famed gizmo- the iPhone. The said wireless service provider would be offering iPhone to most Asian and European countries including New Zealand, Portugal, South Africa, Turkey, Czech Republic, Egypt, Italy, Greece, New Zealand and Australia.

Another player in the cell phone industry joined the bandwagon of getting its fair share of the iPhone magic by introducing the most sought after phone to its subscribers. Rogers is set to offer iPhone to Canada. Ted Rogers, CEO and president of the company, himself announced that the company indeed has present dealings with Apple Inc. Although its president did not divulge the rest of the details of the iPhone deal including its release date. But one thing is for sure, Canada should be ready for the iPhone craze this year.
