The all new Internet Tablet N810 from Nokia is ready to be shipped across the US. As per Bill Plummer, who is the VP Multimedia at the North America division of Nokia, consumers today are keen on carrying around their online communications no matter where they are. The N810 allows the discerning mobile consumer easy portability of online communities. Interactive experiences and superior multimedia capabilities are just some of the features the Internet Tablet presents to the consumer.
The N810 combines a host of modern day features such as a sliding keyboard, a color display screen, Mozilla browser, processor speeds up to 400 MHz, memory capacity of up to 10 GB (internal – 2 GB and 8 GB memory card which is an optional attachment). Easy Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth functionality enables convenient Internet access for consumers. With email, VoIP calls as well as instant messaging services, the N810 takes connectivity to a whole new level. Easy access to Flickr as well as Facebook accounts enable consumers to stay in touch with near and dear ones.
With the N810 a user can store as many as 7500 songs and continuously play music for over 45 hours! With in-built GPS facility, the N810 offers great portability and mobile convenience. One can easily locate interest points, locations, Wi-Fi locations and street addresses with in-built free maps provided by Nokia. If users wish for navigation ability over these maps provided, then for an additional 129.99 USD users can avail Wayfinder which also comes with a license lasting three years. This is expected to commence in December.
The OS that powers the N810 is the latest maemo OS2008 which is based on Linux technology. Updates will be available during the month of December, even for use on the N800 the previous version of the Internet Tablet. This OS will provide Mozilla browsers, custom-made UI screens, Bluetooth headsets, Adobe Flash 9 as well as Ajax technology. In addition, users can also leverage improved audio and video functionalities. The N810 also offer easy downloads to popular sites like Rhapsody, Video Gizmo and Skype etc. For easy Wi-Fi access, users can also access sites like Earthlink, Boingo Wireless as well as The Cloud.
