Vodafone Welcomes SGH-F490

The Samsung SGH-F490 was recently made available to Vodafone subscribers in UK. This handset was one of Samsung's first phones for the year 2008 and was launched way back January. At first glance, it is much similar with Sprint's M800 Instinct, which is also a touch screen cell phone.

AT&T To Launch Mobile TV

AT&T found a pot of gold when it inked the contract for exclusive distribution of Apple iPhone. Today, with big sales in mind, AT&T would soon offer Mobile TV service to capable cell phones. After months of planning, AT&T Mobile TV is set to launch this coming month of May. AT&T feels the need for Mobile TV since most smartphones now have a wider display screen that gives more convenience in viewing videos.

As the economy worsens, prepaid becomes more attractive

So it appears the U.S. economy is headed into recession, if we're not there already. What exactly this will mean for American families remains to be seen. But it likely means cutting of luxury costs. If we were still at the turn of the century, it might be easier to define cell phones as a luxury item. Yes, there were 97 million wireless accounts then, but considering business accounts, they weren't in the hands of the majority of Americans.
