On the New Years Eve there would be more then 50 million text messages which will be sent across Canada, and this would be a new record. The Chief Marketing Officer of Virgin Mobile’s has said that this is yet another proof that we are becoming text maniacs and this can be seen easily on big occasions. The easiest way to celebrate an occasion is by expressing our feelings and the easiest way to express our feelings is a text message. New Year’s Eve is the climax of this episode. He further says that at the midnight when the clock strikes 12 and there is no one with you with whom you can enjoy then turn towards your phone messages. May be you can find a whole lot of messages in your inbox and it would make your day. Most common holiday messages are regarding kissing or they say that you have a bag of gifts.

According to Virgin Mobiles , the expected 50 million messages which will be sent on New Year’s Eve will break the record of the text messages sent out on the New Year’s Eve of last year, which was a total of 25 million. This will also break all the previous records of the text messages that have ever been sent in Canada on any one day.

1. Canadians sent approximately 31.5 million text messages on every average day in 2007.

2. According to an estimate the a single Canadian will now double the amount of messages sent out last year, which means every Canadian will send out 2 messages each.

3. Most of the messages on the New Year’s Eve will be sent out by the textaholics having an age group form 18-30 years. Each textaholic will send approximately 4 messages.

4. According to a study by Virgin Mobiles, some people i.e. 1 out of every 4 individuals, thinks that sending a message is better than making a phone call. They consider that sending a message might be luckier for them than making naughty and anonymous phone calls and they might get lucky with it.

Virgin Mobile hopes the best for itself as they expect traffic levels to reach the extreme during New Year’s Eve. They expect record breaking messages to be sent out and record breaking phone calls on the particular day.
