If being a CEO should call for a celebration, Greg Brown- the new CEO of Motorola, is likely to sit in his study room for hours to plan for what cell phone product is likely to be the next big hit in the market. Ed Zander, former CEO of Motorola, is synonymous to Razr. It is up to Brown to find his own pot of gold and put Motorola back to the game.

The Razr had been one big hit for Motorola. Expectators are now intrigued as to what Brown can produce for the company this year. 2007 has not been the best year for Motorola. In fact they had a nasty fall last year, which resulted to over 7,500 employees losing their jobs. To make matters worse, they've cut down on profitability and hesitantly gave their number two spot as leading manufacturer of cell phones to Samsung.

Motorola's stock shares even dropped by 6% last week. From $15.07, it has gone down to $14.89. The Christmas season is set to boost the sales of the company, but efforts were low and sales proved to be weak during the Holidays. Motorola's lack of new line of products to set consumers eyes glistening with excitement may be the number one reason for its temporary downfall.

The sales of Motorola Razr remain good. It has created a following on its own. We probably need to thank Paris Hilton who managed to let herself be caught in a camera with a pink Razr with her. But Nokia, LG and Samsung continue to create sleek looking phones that take away the spotlight from the famed Motorola Razr.

At 47, all eyes are at Brown who may not have the product to set Motorola flying again during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in the week to come. If there would be any product that would give Motorola back its wings, it is likely to be showed off at the well-attended wireless shows that are said to be held in Barcelona (on February) and in Las Vegas (on April). As they say, when you are down, the only way is up. We are all looking forward to seeing more glamorous phones that are to die for in the Motorola's line-up, that is, if Greg Brown plays his card right.
