The Helio Ocean has arrived. The Ocean is a dual-slider which combines a numeric keypad and a separate full QWERTY keyboard in a single device. Ocean offers its users access to instant, text, and picture messages, and emails from the major portals and ISPs in one location.

The Ocean sports a number of useful buttons on the sides of the body, which includes a volume rocker switch and designated music keys. This can be slightly awkward when trying to access the camera shutter button which is located directly opposite the music keys. Fortunately the music keys are disabled when the camera is running, so this doesn't present a real problem. Aside from the music keys and camera shutter, the camera button, voice memo and microSD memory card slot are located on the same side.

Running over a nationwide high-speed 3G network, Ocean also offers full music downloads, video-on-demand, a camera, an HTML browser, GPS-enabled Google Maps for mobile, Buddy Beacon, full Web search from the device home screen, integration of IM presence into the address book, GPS tagging of photos and videos, and MySpace on Helio all in a well designed package.

The Ocean slides vertically to reveal an alphanumeric keypad for comfortably making calls, sending texts or surfing the web, and horizontally to reveal a separate wide full QWERTY keyboard suitable for the heaviest of emails or text and picture messaging.

One of the unique aspects of the Ocean is its color TFT display. The display has a QVGA pixel resolution that makes it ideal for multimedia functions. The display allows it to be used outside in the sunlight with no problems, as long as the brightness is set to low. Overall, the Helio Ocean is sure to please with its innovative technology and brilliant design.
