How You Can Use Your Cellphone as Modem For Your Computer
Almost no one can live without an Internet connection. That is basically the reason why even the littlest of cellphone has an option to connect to the Internet. Yes, we are now literally living in the world of WorldWideWeb.
So if by chance you are with your laptop in a place where there are no Wi-Fi hotspot, LAN connection or landline- you can always rely on your cell phone to log on to the Internet, no matter how slow cellphone Internet connection may be. But what if you already used up all the Internet access credits of your phone? You think it's the end of the world? No, not just about yet. There is still a solution. You can use your cellphone as modem for your computer. How?
First off, you need three things. A laptop or a computer, a CDMA phone and data cable that would connect your phone to your PC or laptop. Next, you need to plug your phone with a USB cable. Usually, your computer would automatically detect a new hard ware installed and the Add New Hardware wizard would soon appear and search for appropriate drivers. You can actually find PC drivers from your handy phone's PC suite, which is actually a CD that is usually included in your phonekit.
There is also connection software that is usually provided for by your mobile phone service provider. If such software does not come in handy, you can entire your mobile phone number in your modem's dial up properties. You also need to know your phone provider's data network number. Once you got your cellphone worked up as your modem, you can always dial in your Internet service provider's (AOL, Netzero, etc) account information and use the regular 56K dialup mileage.
