Motorola T720 - You and Your Phone Part 2

1. Your vitals:

Welcome barry who used to own a Motorola T720. He owned the phone for over 2 years on the Canadian GSM network of Rogers Wireless.

2. What made you choose your current phone? Was it size, colour, features, look, etc.?

It was the time when color screens were just coming out. This phone was a new flip, color screen, and had an external screen. Seemed pretty hip and solid at the time. A store discount probably helped my choice, I don't think I paid more than 50 bucks for it.

3. Were you looking for some specific feature in your phone?

Honestly no, I wanted the best phone that I could get for a limited budget. I didn't need fancy additions like cameras or messaging, just a solid phone that had a nice appeal.

4. Phones are meant to be used to call people, however, nowadays cell phone do much more. What kind of additional features do you regularly use?

Nothing, no camera, I did use the datebook a bit, but other than that nothing much.

5. What kind of messaging features do you use? Do you think it’s easy and convenient?

I didn't use many messaging features. I did however, use the external headphones plug (it was a great addition at the time).

6. Tell me about the cool things you like about your phone (the pros). What are the key features you use regularly?

Having the external screen was a nice addition. The call quality was always better and signal was generally better than Telus in most locations.

7. Any feature missing that you would have liked (the cons). Any features available but don’t work as well as you'd like?

I purposefully chose a phone with low features to save money. It was solid where it counted.

8. When will you buy a new phone and will you stick with a similar brand and type?

Actually for me, I've moved on to two new phones since. I have stuck with Motorola though since I have been happy with the quality of their flip phones.

9. If you own a smartphone why did you choose it (or why didn’t you choose one)?

I didn't choose one and wouldn't due to the cost.

10. With your provider do you get reliable service?

Yes, as I said I generally had better coverage in hard to reach areas (in buildings) than a similar phone on the Telus network. I didn't try anything outside of the urban area though.

11. Any unique experience you've had with your phone?

Nothing that i can think of! But I do have a favorite wallpaper. Here it is:
