New Software to Help Cellular Phone Innovators Launched by Google

With Google, there’s nothing that you can’t possibly do. Today, the super-search engine has just released software that will hope to produce mobile computers from an average cellular phone. This is, of course, in close partnerships with different telecommunication companies highly revered all over the world.

The new introduced technology aims to provide the kind of support cellular phone and wireless operators need for their products. This way, they can create mobile phones that can already be up to par with the current applications available in the market, such as those of Microsoft, Nokia , Apple, Research in Motion, and Palm, to name a few.

What sets this new software from other commercial programs is that this is under open-source policies, which means anybody can download it without having to deal with legal sanctions in the future. There’s also no fees to pay, and anyone who’s gifted enough to develop or innovate technologies can tinker with the software and add more features. Moreover, the open-source technique will further promote fast innovation and will eventually lower down the prices of soon-to-be released phones. After all, a big portion of their total cost is intended for the recovery of their investments for the software used.

Contrary to what other people believe, there’s no such thing as GPhone or Google Phone. In fact, the software that is made available by Google doesn’t have any physical sign of the company, like its famous logo. Instead, the designers and engineers are giving much leeway to all phone developers who wish to improve the capabilities of their mobile phones. As what the mobile phone platform director of Google, Andy Rubin, said, the company will enable individuals to build their respective GPhone.

On the other hand, Google has worked so hard and invested heavily for this endeavor. They definitely hope that all types of mobile phones will be able to find great use of the new software. But how does Google earn? Just like when you’re browsing in the Internet, advertisements will be Google’s ultimate cash cow for this project.

Cellular phones that will contain the software developed by Google will not be available until middle of 2008. Meanwhile, it pays to note that almost all of the leading cellular manufacturers—including HTC, Motorola , Samsung, and LG—will be carrying this brand-new program. This will also be available to all cellular patrons all over the United States through Sprint as well as T-Mobile. For those who are living in other countries, meanwhile, can obtain these cellular phones through China Mobile, KDDI and NTT DoCoMo in Japan, Telecom Italia located in Italy, T-Mobile in Germany, and Telefonica of Spain.
