Phone Reviews: Black Motorola Razr Story
DiscussWireless is offering a series of cell phone reviews that take the form of a personal story. We've asked consumers just like you to write down some thoughts about their phone to help the rest make informed purchases or take a step down memory lane :D Here is our next installment!
1. Your vitals:
We welcome Dede to the program. Dede owns a Motorola Razr that was won from a contest here at DiscussWireless. He currently operates the phones on the Rogers Wireless GSM network in Canada. He's owned the phone for almost 6 months.
2. What made you choose your current phone? Was it size, colour, features, look, etc.?
Well I won it from you guys so the choice wasn't up for discussion. A nice sleek and thin Razr is what I got and it's worked like a charm since.
3. Were you looking for some specific feature in your phone?
The Razr is quite popular so I thought I'd upgrade from my phone to something a bit more current.
4. Phones are meant to be used to call people, however, nowadays cell phone do much more. What kind of additional features do you regularly use?
Text messaging, camera phone.
5. What kind of messaging features do you use? Do you think it’s easy and convenient?
Basic text messaging a few times a month. I've tried using the browser but for some reason (maybe because it was unlocked) I can't get it to load. The GPRS function won't load properly.....
6. Tell me about the cool things you like about your phone (the pros). What are the key features you use regularly?
All around it's a solid phone. It doesn't have tons of features and is more of a stylish phone than a text messaging or multimedia device.
7. Any feature missing that you would have liked (the cons). Any features available but don’t work as well as you’d like?
No MP3 player, poor phone (as of now it's poor compared to newer phones). It's good at what it does, it's a phone. Web browser doesn't work for me. The body is quite susceptible to scratches.
8. When will you buy a new phone and will you stick with a similar brand and type?
I might, but hopefully this phone lasts me a very long time. I don't see upgrading to another Razr, maybe something with music functions.
9. With your provider do you get reliable service? (Rogers Wireless GSM)
Never had a call drop, reception is great. Some obscure places I get zero reception but that's a network thing.
This ends our latest installment of 'phone stories' from consumers/Discusswireless contributors.
