Because of the various functionalities of the iPhone, a lot of consumers just fell in love with this gadget. If you are on of those iPhone users who pushes the functionality of their phone to its fullest, you might have heard of iPhone hacking and install 3rd party applications with ease and at a low or no cost. After installing these applications, you might notice that your iPhone's battery suddenly breathe out of life.

Why does your iPhone battery life drop when you install third party applications? This is basically because you are likely to install the file called OpenSSH, which is an application that is responsible in draining your iPhone's battery.

OpenSSH is actually a tool that would allow user to remotely login to their iPhone from a desktop computer or laptop. This application needs SSHD to constantly run as its wait for a user to remotely login. Since this application is always running, it would soon eat up a lot of battery power. What do you need to do to avoid battery drain? You simply have to disable SSHD if not in use. This is how you do it:

• Double-check if you downloaded and installed Nullriver's Installer.app in your iPhone.
• Go to Installer.app and download Community Sources
• Go to Utilities under Installer.app and install "Services".
• Go to iPhone's home page until iPhone reloads the Springboard.
• Unlock your phone and launch "Services"
• In the "Services" menu, turn off SSH.

Once SSH is no longer running when needed, your battery life would go back to normal. If you need to remotely login and need to open SSH application, you simply go to "Services" menu and toggle SSH to turn it back on.
