SCH-W420: Samsung’s Version of the iPhone
With all the hype for Apple's iPhone, you bet that cell phone manufacturers would produce a handset that would match the features of an iPhone, if not better this loved mobile phone. Most iPhone consumers would tell you that no gadget would beat this pocket PC, media player and cell phone in one gadget. But at least some of the smart phones we have in the market can possibly be a sound alternative to this sough after phone. Heeding the call for more iPhone-like handset to hit the market, Samsung has created its own phone that resembles that famed iPhone.
The SCH-W420 is Samsung's Anycall Haptic phone. It is much like an Apple iPhone, with a much thinner look. It also adds some new elements to the usual touch interface. Similar to the iPhone, it has a wide touch screen LCD display. It has a 3.2 inch colored display screen that allows for good viewing for video and images and surfing the Internet. It also comes with a 2-megapixel camera and can double up as a pocket PC with its Internet capabilities. You can connect via Bluetooth technology and you can also take advantage of its option for terrestrial mobile TV.
The SCH-W420 is also capable of recognizing haptic feedback. This means that it can transmit information with just a touch of your finger. It understands certain commands via sense of touch. For instance, if you want the volume of the radio to change, you can simple touch the screen and you would feel and hear the "click" sound that you would usually experience when turning a radio tuner knob.
The SCH-W420 also features 22 different kinds of vibration that you no longer need to download. The vibration options are built in. The SCH-W420 is initially being sold in South Korea. It would cost you anywhere from $700 - $800.
