Sony Pictures to Conquer Mobile Entertainment

Sony Pictures, one of the biggest names in the silver screen industry, is going to take their venture in another place- right into your  cell phone. Sony Pictures would soon produce and offer to the market Sony movies that are specifically made for mobile phones. It would create the first ever movie network in the United States and would soon reach most part of the globe.

Sony Pictures inked a contract with MediaFLO USA and AT&T to help them with linear movie channel that would be made available through AT&T Mobile TV with FLO service. The launch is foreseeable to start by the month of May.

Sony Pictures linear movie channel would be named as PIX. Some of the movies that would be available to AT&T subscribers would include "Philadelphia", "Ghostbusters" and "Stand by Me". Sony Pictures understands the need for quality movies for mobile use. The company is now offering more options for cell phone users by offering quality content and quality entertainment.

Movie films have been one of the sought after mobile contents in the market. It has been an on-demand product and most users would go online to download movies for mobile. Sony Pictures is one of the movie outfits that contributed to MSpot, a content aggregator that offers MSpot Movies for Sprint way back in 2006. Sony has always looked into the market for mobile users looking for movies and entertainment. It was the first company to embed full-length movies in memory cards for use in cell phones.

With smartphones and touch screen phones, display screen for movie viewing has been improved. Viewing movies in a 2 or 3 inch screen may not be that exciting but Sony understands that people who watches movies in their cell phones do come and go. Meaning, they watch movies as pass time. They usually watch mobile movies whenever they are waiting for the bus, or waiting for a meeting to start.

With the technology of AT&T and PIX, Sony movies would definitely reach millions of users. Sit back and relax, watch a movie or two, and wait for Sony to conquer Mobile TV.
