Windows Mobile: No Longer a Free Service?

A lot of cell phone users raised their eyebrows when all of a sudden a prompt message appears on their cell phone screens stating that they have just started Windows Live's 30-day trial. Most users would read this message whenever they log on to their messenger.

The message states that after the 30-day trial period, users would have to pay for data charges. Not all Windows Live users are receiving the same message. There seems to be a glitch it the system. Most Symbian subscribers are receiving the message along with a few T-Mobile users. Other Instant messaging services seems to be unaffected including the mail and contact sync features of Windows Live.

To end the rumors and speculations, a representative from the Microsoft already confirmed that there is indeed a malfunction in their system and that Windows Mobile is still free for everyone to use.

Cell phone users with Windows Live on their handsets should not be receiving that message. Windows Mobile services are actually being paid for when you subscribe your phone carrier's data plan. The glitch was cause by a direct-to-consumer billing service that are only designed to be sent to Nokia S60 users in the Sweden and United Kingdom. Although, there might be a possibility in the future that Windows Live might be offered with corresponding charges, it is not implemented at this time yet. The Windows team is currently working out to solve this glitch.
