Wireless Roaming With Telus to the US
TELUS announced the extension of Wireless High Speed (EVDO) roaming to more than 230 U.S. cities, making it fast and simple for business or consumer clients travelling across the border to access Internet, e-mail and other multimedia applications at broadband-like download speeds similar to desktop Internet access at home. The announcement enables clients to access high-speed mobile Internet in more U.S. cities than offered by any other Canadian wireless carrier.
With typical download speeds of approximately 400 to 700 kilobits per second, and maximum possible speeds of more than 2 megabits per second, TELUS Wireless High Speed service offers clients the speed they need for powerful mobile computing and exciting SPARK mobile entertainment applications like TELUS Mobile TV, TELUS Mobile Radio, and TELUS Mobile Music. Wireless High Speed is based on the CDMA 1xEVDO standard, a 3G wireless data technology.
TELUS Connection Manager software provides mobile computing clients using portable computers and a TELUS PC card with one-click access to TELUS' best available wireless network - including TELUS Wireless High Speed, 1X and over 1,000 TELUS Hotspot locations across Canada. TELUS Connection Manager also provides built-in data compression that can reduce the time to download information by up to two to three times on Wireless High Speed or 1X data networks. TELUS Connection Manager software is available for free download at telusmobility.com/connectionmanager.

Re: Telus... What are the roaming fees for using a Canadian cell phone in Montana? What are the per minute charges for phoning a local Montana phone, using a phone registered in Canada?
Thank you. We are trying to decide between telus and rogers.

If you hvae a Telus phone in Montana registered in say Calgary, then you pay roaming AND .30 / minute long distance. Probably best to ask in the forum what they think.
