If you've used Yahoo Mail regularly you'll be more than happy to know about the new free text-messaging features. PC users will be able to use email, IM or SMS to reach their contacts, and can switch between the three methods, picking whichever happens to be most convenient at that moment. The text-messaging feature will be available in North America, India and Phillipines and will be rolled out over the next six weeks in the form of an upgrade.




Yahoo updated its e-mail service, adding a feature that enables users to send text messages to mobile phones. While sending texts from Yahoo Mail to mobile phones is free, mobile users will incur carrier messaging charges for receiving messages and responding via SMS.

A good idea by Yahoo, too bad I never use Yahoo mail.
