AT&T and LG have announced the new trax LG CU575, a cool flip phone with the latest media and messaging features. Exclusively available from AT&T, trax showcases an ultrathin design, blazing-fast 3G HSDPA data speeds and the convenience of stereo Bluetooth.

The trax by LG features AT&T Mobile Music, which gives users access to subscription music services such as Napster and eMusic, in addition to Music ID song-recognition software, music videos and The Buzz music news portal. The handset is MobiTV and XM Radio Mobile-capable, so users can enjoy streaming live TV and digital radio all in one device.

The device's 3G data speeds through AT&T's UMTS/HSDPA network enables users to access AT&T's Cellular Video (CV) service and the Internet while they're on the go. CV features content from CNN, The Weather Channel, iFilm, Comedy Central and exclusive premium content from HBO and much more.

The LG CU575 measures 15mm or so in thickness. That won't set the world on fire, but it is still slim enough to slide easily enough into a pants pocket. The CU575's 99g weight is also in the right ballpark. One of the best features of the Trax is its ability to work on so many different networks. The Trax supports GPRS and EDGE on all four GSM bands, and supports high-speed HSDPA data on the two North American UMTS bands. That solid 3G support should make using AT&T's CV video service a snap, providing quick access to mobile content from CNN, iFilm, Comedy Central, and others. The Trax also supports AT&T's Video Share service, which is a one-way live video calling system.
