The Kyocera KX12 walkie-talkie handset is a rugged water- and dust-resistant design with integrated flashlight helps ensure users can stay in touch in a variety of outdoor situations. Its dedicated walkie-talkie buttons and front-ported loudspeaker ensure ease of use and clear, higher-quality sound. The high-capacity battery gives users more walkie-talkie and talk time and the internal antenna, rubberized side grips and back tread allow for easy gripping. The KX12's large, vivid 128x128 pixel color display and brilliant-blue backlit keypad allow for easier viewing in harsh light or at night.

Kyocera's new walkie-talkie handsets supports multiple CDMA push-to-talk software clients for maximum reliability with a variety of carriers. And, like many Kyocera phones, KX12 comes with a robust contact directory, predictive text-input software for rapid text entry, vibrate alert, productivity tools including scheduler, calculator and world clock, polyphonic ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers, picture caller ID and games, language support for English, Spanish, Portuguese and French, WAP 2.0 browser for web access and BREW 2.1 or Java capability.

Measuring 1.93 in x 4.33 in x .98 in and weighing 4.0 ounces, the Kyocera KX12 will be available globally with CDMA carriers in Q1 2006.
