What a great little phone hey! I just bought the i version with the 512 meg flash memory and so far so good. The Motorola 635i has EVERYTHING. GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth, camera, video, MP3, etc. etc.

One knock, however, and i do pump this phone cause it's great (so far), is the mp3 player. You can't control the Mp3 player when the phone is closed, or at least I haven't figured it out. That's a knock. You can't play files bigger than 128 or it'll skip; the player is a java application so that could be why....

To answer your question, the way I solve this is by letting it beep for a minute and it usually catches on. If not, unplug and re-insert. If you have windows XP the OS should autmoatically detect the v635i. anyways, enjoy and post back any questions!

I'm not sure if this will solve the problem, but you need the Motorola Tools Software to download pictures/videos/multimedia, not mp3's though, from the phone to your computer. You can transfer via USB from the flahsdisk but you can't get to the phone memory from USB without the software. It may let you delete some of the annoying v635 content.

Another con to the phone, and it's but a minor problem is the generic headphones they (Motorola I'm assuming) attach with the phone. The headphones are ok, the sound from the earebuds I can live with, however, the mic for receiving and taking calls via headphones is horriable. People can't hear me if I'm around any noise, I'm just a muffled sound..... If you want to use the headset feature then buy new ones or heck, get Bluetooth.
