The new Nokia 2310 phone offers a compact design matched with an equally outstanding array of colour covers. A dedicated short-cut key activates the built-in FM radio which features "sound visualization" -graphics that move in sync with the music. Keeping in tune with consumer desires, the Nokia 2310 offers polyphonic and MP3-grade ring tones.

The Nokia 2310 offers messaging options, including an SMS editor to avoid accidental deletions of messages, speed dial for SMS sending and a distribution list for creating and managing personal contact lists. The Nokia 2310 also features the Nokia Prepaid Tracker, a network supported application which automatically updates users of their prepaid account balance after each call or message.

Weighing 85 grams, the Nokia 2310 has a talk time of up to 6 hours and a standby time of up to 16 days. The estimated retail price, before subsidies or taxes, is expected to be 65 euros.
