After over 7 years I finally have to get rid of my trusty old Nokia. Service to this old analog phone has diminished greatly. I am looking to purchase an unlocked phone but don't really understand the ramifications. I was hoping to be able to exchange my old Nokias -- one for Europe and the other US -- for an unlocked phone that I could use in either place, but I don't know if that is possible. I've been looking at the 6126, 6125, 6131, 6270. Knowing nothing about the new phone technology, I need some help. The reason I want to be able to insert a Euro sim card is because the phone rates are so much less than using a US phone plan at something like $3.00/minute. So, do the Euro phones work in the US and can the cards be changed from Euro to US and vice versa? Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Well obviously if you're going international and exchanging SIMs you want a quad-band 'world phone' that operates on the GSM network. If you let us know what phone you're interested in we can get you a deal on it unlocked (perhaps ).
The phones you mentioned aren't the 'latest' phones, probably a year old I'd say, if not more.
