Alltel unveil SCH-A645 from Samsung

Alltel unveiled the SCH-A645 from Samsung. This clamshell handset is targeted at the price conscious market, and comes with the today's most common features available on handsets. The trimode phone supports dual band CDMA and analog frequencies, and includes a 65k STN (128x160 pixel resolution) screen for its main display and a grayscale STN (96x32 pixel resolution) for its sub-display.

Samsung has included T9 predictive text input to the A645 to simplify text messaging. Other features include handsfree speakerphone and speech recognition on the device will come in quite handy. A couple of additional features of note are dual language (English, Spanish) support, a 500 entry phone book, and a personal planner.

The Samsung A645 weighs in at 91g (3.2oz) and measures 89mm x 46mm x 23mm (3.5" x 1.8" x .9") in size. The battery should allow for up to 3.5 hours continuous digital talk time, or 12.75 days of standby time. The Samsung A645 is available now from Alltel Wireless for US$9.99 after rebates and discounts, with a new 2 year service agreement. It is also available to eligible existing customers on qualifying Alltel rate plans.
