Samsung Releases SCH-V740 - RAZR Challenger

Samsung's latest cell phone challenges Motorola’s RAZR for 14.5mm-thick ultra-slim phone leadership. The South Korean handset maker unveiled its own slim phone SCH-V740 at ‘Expo Comm Wireless Korea 2005’ held from May 18 to 21 at COEX in Seoul.

The V740 is 14.5mm thick and weighs only 98g, thin and light enough to fit in shirt pocket, the company explained, but enabled with all kinds of state-of-art features such as 1.3 mega-pixel camera, Bluetooth, File-viewer and MP3.

As Samsung and Motorola offer the same thickness, RAZR’s debut in Korea scheduled for next month is likely to trigger severe competition. Motorola RAZR is 14.5mm thick, when folded and only 6mm at the thinnest part, when opened.
