Samsung release the SGH-E950

Samsung has released the SGH-E950. The SGH E950 incorporates a black touch sensitive control area instead of a traditional d-pad controller. Users navigate through the E950's new user interface with a series of sweeping finger swipes across the touch sensitive control area. A 1.2" OLED display situated behind the touch-pad's surface allows the phone to change the icons and controls displayed on the touch-pad based on the context of the current application or phone function that the user is working with. A larger 2" 262k color main display sits above the touch-pad.

The tri-band GSM/EDGE (900/1800/1900MHz) SGH-E950 includes a 3.2 megapixel digital camera with video recording capability, a MP3/AAC+/WMA compatible music player, and 70MB or internal storage space that is backed up by a microSD memory card expansion slot. The Bluetooth system supports wireless stereo headphone use through the A2DP profile. The E950 also supports USB 2.0 connectivity as well.

Samsung expects the SGH-E950 to go on sale in Southeast Asia in July of this year. No word on pricing or specific markets as of yet.
