Help on my SE Screen

I have Cingular (or AT&T). It's a Sony Ericsson phone. I was down in my basement by my computer. I opened it to read a text message. I read the text and hit reply.Then, the screen picture was split and only showed half of the screen twice and was just messed up. I tried turning my phone off and back on. When I did this the screen just stayed white and wouldn't actually turn back on all the way. So now I plugged it in to the charger. Any ideas?

By the way, I didn't run out of battery because I had at least 75% charge left when I opened the text message. I've dropped it once, though, from like 1 foot from the ground. It hit my couch and then the floor. It didn't like make a loud noise. That was like a week or so ago. It hadn't started being weird until just now though. I got this phone around May 2007.

Hi there!

Usually, a white screen means that the screen is bad and unless you have dropped it in water it should come with a one year manufacturer warranty and Cingular should change it free of charge. Try also taking the battery out while pressing the power button. It might just need a reset.
