Sony Ericsson announced the new mobile imaging K300 camera phone. Using a mobile phone to shoot and share pictures and video will now become available to many more people as this entry level camera phone provides mobile video and picture messaging and is extremely easy to use, so even users new to the idea can share images with their friends and family in just a few clicks. The camera is used horizontally, allowing shots to be stable and well framed, and 4x digital zoom gives great results at a distance. Thanks to QuickShare it is possible to send video, picture and text messages in just a few clicks. The K300 doubles up as a video and photo album as its 12MB on-board memory will store a sizeable collection of 120 10-second video clips or 500 VGA images. The 65K colour screen makes for good quality viewing of stills and footage. Enterprises looking for a phone for their employees will find the K300 appealing as its business applications such as built-in speaker phone, PC synchronisation and personal information management make it the ideal affordable, robust work tool. Very useful accessories include Car Hands Free or, for the first time at this price level the QuickInstall Car Kit. The Sony Ericsson K750 features are now common in stand alone digital cameras but new to mobile phones, such as Autofocus, 4x digital zoom, red eye reduction and an intuitive user interface. The camera operates horizontally for stable, well framed shots. If used with the Sony Ericsson PhoneFlash MXE-60 it is possible to take pictures in the dark from several meters away and it also helps reducing red eye.
Images can be shared with a host of other devices via Memory Stick Duo, Bluetooth and Infrared. Also a USB cable comes with the phone for fast transfer of pictures, video and music to and from a PC. Theres no need to use a PC to print photos as images can be sent wirelessly to a Bluetooth printer or they can be transferred via a Memory Stick to a compatible printer or to the photo kiosks that are now turning common in phot stores. In combination with the Bluetooth Media Centre MMV-200, the K750 can be used to view pictures and videos on a TV screen and easily share them with friends and family in a fun and entertaining way.
The K750 comes with an internal 32MB memory, which can hold nearly 100 full size pictures and an external memory slot which accepts Memory Stick Duo up to 2GB, which should be enough for more than 6,000 shots at lower resolution. A 64MB Memory Stick Duo is supplied with the phone.
The K750 also provides some fun, with a 3D Java games engine, integrated MP3 player and built-in FM radio. The phone also sports some tools for personalising the phone and mixing video, stills, sound and text. VideoDJ allows users to create their own animations; PhotoDJ is a simple photo editor for enhancing shots; and PlayNow enables users to download fresh new music tones direct to their phone and personalised ringtones and sound effects can be created with MusicDJ. The K300 will come in the following editions: K300i - Triple Band 900/1800/1900 MHz K300c - Triple Band 900/1800/1900 MHz for China Mainland K300a - Triple Band 850/1800/1900 MHz for Americas
