HP has begun offering Windows Mobile 5.0 upgrades for several iPAQs back in September 2005: the hx2110, hx2410, and hx2750. The VGA hx4700 series was not included as of yet. Owners of those Pocket PCs will soon have a chance to move up from Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition to Microsoft's newest handheld platform, as the computer and printer giant will finally release an OS upgrade on March 1st. HP said at the time of the hx2000 update, the hx4700's would be delayed until spring because of "extended delays in the availability of a critical 3rd party driver," perhaps due to its 640 x 480 pixel resolution screen. The European site says Windows Mobile 5.0 will set users back £26.00. For U.S. customers, the hx2000 upgrade goes for $40, most likely what the hx4700 will cost as well.
