Cingular released an HSDPA-enabled smart phone, the 8525 Pocket PC to its line-up, which it is selling for $250 with a mail-in rebate and two-year contract. The 8525 is the first HSDPA-enabled smart phone for Cingular.
The 8525 provides Microsoft’s Windows Mobile OS with Direct Push Technology for e-mail—useful to both enterprise and consumer—and includes multimedia capabilities for entertainment.
The 8525 device offers both QWERTY keyboard and touch-screen inputs, as well as integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and infrared connectivity, and Cingular’s TeleNav GPS Navigator service. The Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system provides Media Player, Internet Explorer and Outlook and also provides the Messaging and Security Feature Pack, which enables remote support for an enterprise’s IT policies.
