Opera Software increased support for its wireless Web browser, making Opera Mini available for Palm OS and BlackBerry-enabled devices.
Opera launched a Java-based version of its PC browser in February and claims the downloadable offering is used by 7 million wireless consumers worldwide. The company is pitted against Novarra Inc., an Illinois-based developer on the wireless browser playground; Google Inc. and others also provide transcoding technology that customizes Internet content for mobile phones.
