The Nokia 6682 smartphone will be sold first directly to customers online from its Web site. Introduced, along with its sister phone (the European only 6681) and the high-end 6680 - like the other two smartphones—is built on the Series 60 interface and the Symbian operating system.
The 6680 is a tri-band (900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM model which works with both EDGE and WCDMA networks. It has a bright 262,144 color display and two cameras with flash. The Nokia 6681 (Europe) & just released 6682 (America) are cheaper versions of the 6680.
Instead of two cameras, you get one 1.3 megapixel camera in the same slider form factor. Nokia also nixes WCDMA networking and Bluetooth, but keep GSM and EDGE support in these handsets. The 6682 weighs 4.2 ounces and measures 4.23 x 2.19 x 0.86 inches.
While its display supports the same 262,1444 colors asthe 6680’s, it does so at a lower 176 x 208 pixel resolution. Nokia sells the 6682 for $599.
