Windows just stopped seeing my music all of a sudden.
The space is still taken and if opened separately the mp4 player still works but I can't add or delete any music from it while plugged in the computer. I've got all my music safe on the computer as well so I just figured if I could format the mp4 player but what exactly will I be deleting if I did so? Any unreplaceable settings or system files?

Hi! Try to use the file explorer . Then, find the storage card. Check the MSMETADATA and delete MSMETADATA. Delete also, wmdrm if it is there. Close it after and go to Windows Media Player. Hit update library and it should add all of your media files back to where they were.
You can format it but anything else you have stored on the card will be lost too.
If you need anything else related to this. Don’t forget to inform me. Hope it helps.
