Help on Ringtone Issues

Just upgraded to an LG VX5400, my carrier is Verizon, and was hoping to customize my ringtone. I tried loading the ringtone using WAP, and it will play on my cell phone when I access it using the web browser (though it won't read anything other than .midi), but there's no way to save it. I can record sounds, but there appears to be no way to use those sounds as ringtones, and even if there is, I can't find a way to make a recording without the sound of me clicking the stop button (pre-set recording times of one minute or one hour only).

Looked online, but all the websites offering "free ringtones" seem extremely shady, and geared towards stupid people. It'll say "TEN FREE RINGTONES" in huge letters at the top, then at the bottom in the fine print it explains that you get ten free when you subscribe to a service in exchange for $20 a month and your immortal soul.

This ringtone I want is not available on Verizon's standard ringtone apps. I'm at my wits' end. Any suggestions?

There are too many shady companies out there that rip you off with $10 a month but advertise as "free".
There are a couple of known free sites. The only free site that you can trust is one which lets you make your own ringtone.

Lately though, verizon has been blocking free sites and you never get the ringtone that they send you.
Try uploading an mp3 to Ventones, and after you're done, email yourself the ringtone to your phone's mms address which is:

number@vzwpix.com

Sometimes you get it, but sometimes you have to wait hours or even 1 day.
