The CDMA Development Group has added a new acronym - CDMA 2000 1x EV-DO Revision C changes to - Ultra Mobile Broadband, or UMB.
The new standard is expected to be published early in the second quarter of next year and become commercially available in early 2009, according to the CDG. The group said that UMB combines "the best aspects of the following leading air interface techniques: CDMA, TDM, OFDM and OFDMA."
