NTT DoCoMo 2nd Quarter 2005 Brief Results

NTT DoCoMo reported a 22-percent jump in its quarterly net income to $1.8 billion. The carrier also saw a 19.2-percent pop in the number of its FOMA third-generation subscribers to 13.7 million.

Although DoCoMo saw a rise in its net income, the carrier's operating revenues fell 2.8 percent over the same quarter last year. DoCoMo ended the quarter with 49 million total subscribers and a churn rate of 0.8 percent-a record for the carrier.
