Rogers Wireless and Fido Release Name Display

Rogers Wireless and Fido continue to break new ground in advanced mobile phone offerings with the launch of Name Display. A first in North America, this brand new wireless service will allow customers of both brands to see the name of the person calling, even if the person is not in their mobile address book.

Name Display is now available on mobile phones, exclusively through Rogers Wireless and Fido, as an enhancement to the existing Call Display service. Customers who subscribe to Name Display will be able to see the name of the person calling them from a landline in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Newfoundland as well as of national Rogers Wireless and Fido callers. In addition, Rogers Wireless and Fido customers' names will appear on the devices of other Name Display subscribers as well as on those of landline customers with a Caller ID function.

With Name Display, it's easier for Rogers Wireless and Fido customers with a GSM-capable phone to see exactly who is calling. The Name Display service works from wireless to wireless nationally and between wireless and landline in select provinces. Customers can subscribe to Call Display and Name Display for a combined rate of $8/month. If desired, customers can have their personal information (i.e. name and phone number) blocked so it does not appear on phones equipped with Name Display.
