I've been with Fido since they started in 1997 and had the same basic monthly plan since then. It came with basic standard features of call waiting, forwarding and conferencing.
Today the forwarding just stopped working. I called Fido to ask, but their internal system was down. Then I noticed on their site that forwarding is no longer listed as an included service.
Does anyone know when this happened? I checked my bills and did not see any kind of notice of this, tho I did see other notes last year on price hikes (and oh boy, did they ever hike the rates on extras). The guy on the phone thought forwarding would be grandfathered in for older plan holders, but was not sure cuz his terminal was not working.
Anyhow, if its gone, its a drag - my plan included 1000 min of it. Now its a $3 option apparently if you are a new subscriber.
Just another price increase and service drop that just erodes Fido/Rogers as a value proposition, in my mind.
Is there any word on whether we will see US competition in the GSM space in Canada?
