Sprint Nextel now offers pay-per-view movie service that offers nearly four dozen classic films and recent releases. Sprint Movies, which is powered by mSpot, allows users to watch films in their entirety or view chapters that can be watched over time. The films cost between $4 and $6 each, and subscribers can view offerings an unlimited number of times during periods that range between 24 hours and one week, depending on the title.
Sprint said it plans to continue to offer its mSpot Movies service, which debuted in December and allows customers to watch unlimited movies, TV programs and concerts for a $7 monthly subscription. The new service features more high-profile films, however, including classics “Animal House,” “Scarface” and “Slapshot” and more recent hits including “Happy Gilmore” and “American Pie.” The carrier noted that all movies are edited to TV 14 standards.
