T-Mobile has confirmed the launch of the Sidekick iD, the new and cheaper Sidekick. The Sidekick iD retains the iconic form factor and swiveling screen of the Sidekick 3, but loses certain features to allow it to enter the market at a much cheaper price point.

There is no Bluetooth, EDGE high-speed data, a memory card slot, camera, and USB connectivity. However, included are, A 2.4" landscape orientation TFT LCD display with a 240x160 pixel resolution, full HTML compatible web browser, and support for AIM, Yahoo!, and Windows Live Messenger IM services are all present, as is the convenient trackball found in the Sidekick 3. T-Mobile's myFaves service features on the Sidekick iD, and the device includes user-changeable skins for the corners and sides of its body, giving the opportunity to further customize the handset to your tastes.

The Sidekick iD will be available through T-Mobile starting April 25. A range of color schemes will be available at launch, including black, yellow, blue, white, purple, and glow-in-the-dark, with accessories to match.
