Telus Release Pantech PN-8200

TELUS released the Pantech PN-8200 from UTStarcom, a flip-style, compact smartphone that delivers powerful business tools that help users stay connected with colleagues, friends and family while on-the-go. The PN-8200 is exclusively available in Canada to TELUS customers.

The Pantech PN-8200 supports TELUS Business Inbox for push access to corporate and personal data, with e-mail. With Business Inbox, mobile professionals with IBM Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange Server can make productive use of their time spent away from the office with real-time and secure access to wireless e-mail, and calendar events.

The Pantech PN-8200 is powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 (smartphone) for a familiar user interface, making it simple to access corporate and personal data in real-time. With Microsoft ActiveSync, users can carry their entire Office Outlook address book and calendar events wherever they go. Integrated Bluetooth allows for use with wireless compatible headsets, hands-free car kits and data transfers of non copy-protected files. Using Pocket MSN(R), clients can remain available to other online users through MSN Messenger and MSN Hotmail.

Users can stay entertained with the Pantech PN-8200's built-in 1.3 megapixel digital camera, expandable memory card slot (miniSD up to 4GB) for storing media files, and portfolio of entertainment capabilities including Internet Explorer Mobile, which enables users to surf the Web, or watch videos and play music with Windows Media Player Mobile 10.

The Pantech PN-8200 smartphone operates on TELUS' Wireless High Speed network. Based on the CDMA 1xEVDO standard, Wireless High Speed is available in more than 35 regions across Canada to more than half of all Canadians. Travelers can also access Wireless High Speed in more than 230 cities across the United States. Where Wireless High Speed is not available, the Pantech PN-8200 also functions on the national 1X digital network which reaches 92 per cent of Canadians.
