CSR has shipped 50 million Bluetooth chips since its foundation. CSR's Bluetooth silicon, called BlueCore, is integrated into mobile devices made by companies like Nokia, IBM, Motorola and Sony.

According to an IMS Research, over 3 million Bluetooth devices are currently shipping each week. In-Stat/MDR suggests that the figure for total shipments will reach 1.4 billion by next year. Today, CSR has a silicon volume share of 42 percent with share of end product design wins exceeding 60 percent.

The Bluetooth SIG announced Bluetooth EDR (enhanced data rate) in June 2004, widening the potential applications for the technology, and further strengthening the market. CSR launched BlueCore4, its EDR ready silicon, at the same time. EDR offers lower power consumption and data transfer rates 3-times faster than current v1.2 Bluetooth. These enhancements in Bluetooth EDR mean that applications such as wirelessly streaming music from a PC to Bluetooth headphones, or high-resolution picture exchange between mobile phones, can all be achieved faster, more efficiently, and with lower power consumption.
