Bluetooth Experience Icon Program

The Bluetooth SIG announced a new program to give consumers information on what wireless functionality a device provides through easy to read icons on the product's packaging.

The Bluetooth Experience Icon Program, as it is being called, provides icons covering the five main functions of Bluetooth technology, including print, input, headset, file transfer, and music. Other icons are planned for launch later this year, including icons for dial-up networking and automotive handsfree use.

The Bluetooth SIG will focus marketing efforts on one icon per month over the coming months, driving home the definition of each icon one at a time, along with efforts to raise awareness of the entire program.
