Kyocera Wireless and WindSpring Combine for Smartphone softw

Kyocera Wireless and WindSpring Inc. said they are collaborating to include WindSpring's Gazelle software on Kyocera's CDMA smart phones.

Gazelle uses WindSpring's patented data miniaturization technology to allow for more storage on mobile devices. By integrating DMT into their cell phones, Kyocera will be able to increase the useful life of existing handsets, reduce ongoing hardware and software engineering cost, accelerate time to market for new products, and provide a larger set of features and capabilities for consumers.

The increased use of data applications on wireless phones requires an improvement of functionality and data-storage capacity on our devices without significantly increasing costs per unit.
