Desptie rumors of possible takeovers, Microcell have deployed Mitec Telecom Inc. live "on-air" trials of its latest GSM Booster Power Amplifier in Fido's Montreal network. There are also plans to extend the trials to other parts of Microcell's national network. The GSM Booster Amplifier is designed to maximize the existing coverage of a cell site, and to improve network performance. It extends network coverage by boosting cellular signals without the extensive capital outlay.
Other frequency bands for European and Asian
deployment will follow shortly.
