|
|
Hello everyone, up until yesterday I have never heared of an unlocked phone before. Without getting too offtopic, the story is that I have a motorola phone, and Rogers is my provider. My old phone broke, and I want to get a new one. So my question is this: If I buy a new, unlocked phone, for example tigerdirect, can I just put my existing SIM card into this phone, and it will work fine? |

IF you buy the right unlocked phone with the right network compatibility then all you need to do is switch your SIM card like you said. Furthermore, tigerdirect is far more expensive than DiscussWireless. If you are looking for a phone then check the SHOP pages in the header, or post here letting us know what phone your are looking for.

Remember:
Cell phones that are bought unlocked (not from a provider) can be used on any GSM network any time cause it's not locked to a carrier.
If you get a cell phone FROM a carrier, i.e. Cingular or Rogers, then it can only work on that network (but different SIM cards will work fine (from same network.) )
