Rogers Wireless launched its innovative new Video Messaging service, enabling customers to instantly capture, share and save special moments, up to 20 seconds in length, on video. Video Messaging, one of the most highly-anticipated new wireless applications of the season, builds on Rogers Wireless' highly successful Picture Messaging service and further enhances customers' ability to quickly and easily record the things that matter most with their wireless device.

Sending and receiving video messages is easy. Rogers Wireless customers simply shoot a video with their video-messaging capable device and enter the
Rogers Wireless phone number or e-mail address of the person to whom they want to send that video, and add the video attachment. Rogers Wireless customers who receive a video message can view that video immediately, right on their Video Messaging phones, while customers with non-video phones will receive a Web link (URL) to view the video on-line from any computer.

In addition to creating video messages, Rogers Wireless' Video Messaging service also offers customers the exclusive ability to download short video clips to their video-messaging capable wireless device via the Rogers Wireless navigate mobile Internet browser. Customers can download TV micro-shows, music videos, movie trailers, celebrity interviews, fashion news and more from content providers such as MuchMusic, Star!TV and Fashion Television. This service is provided by QuickPlay Media, Inc., an interactive media company established to package, distribute and manage the deployment of rich media applications to mobile subscribers.

Rogers Wireless Video and Picture Messaging customers also receive access to a free personal on-line album on the Rogers.com website. My Pix provides on-line storage for up to 100 videos and/or pictures, along with the ability to create personalized albums, organize and edit photos by adding sound clips or text and even send videos and photos from the on-line album to Rogers wireless phones or any email address around the world - at no extra charge.

Video Messaging is currently available on two new wireless phones - the Nokia 3220 and the Motorola V551. The Nokia 3220 can record a 15-second clip and is available for only $49.99 on a three-year term - the price of most wireless phones that only have cameras. It is a tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz video phone that features lights that flash in time to musical ringtunes, downloadable wallpapers and screensavers with matching colour screens, and the ability to animate video messages. The Motorola V551, available for $199.99 for a three-year term, can record video clips up to 20 seconds long.

It is a quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz 'world phone' that features Bluetooth Wireless technology, built-in speakerphone and picture caller ID, among many other features.

Rogers Wireless customers can enjoy Video and Picture Messaging at no extra charge for three months from the time they send their first video or picture message. After the three-month time period, video messages are billed at rates beginning at 25 cents per recipient per message sent for customers on a Rogers Wireless navigate mobile Internet plan. The pay-per-use rate is 50 cents per recipient per message sent. Rogers Wireless customers receive video and picture messages at no extra charge with capable wireless phones. Video clips downloaded from the Rogers Wireless navigate mobile Internet browser start at $2.00 for each video clip purchased, plus 50 cents for the download.
