Virgin Mobile Launches in Manitoba

Virgin Mobile launched its no 'catch' mobile phone service in Manitoba, offering customers great anytime rates, no hidden fees and no contracts to sign. The company will shake up the mobile market and offer a simpler, better deal to almost half a million Canadians in Manitoba who currently don't have a mobile phone.

Virgin Mobile is expanding its coverage with MTS Allstream's network. "We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our mobile service to residents of Manitoba," said Black. "The percentage of Canadians in Manitoba with mobile phones is among the lowest in the country at just over 35 per cent. This is a perfect market opportunity for Virgin Mobile," added Black.


Virgin Mobile phones are sold with no contracts to sign, so customers don't have to tie themselves into long-term commitments and higher-priced plans. Three little phone models are available at affordable prices from leading manufacturers Nokia and Audiovox - the Nokia 6015i at $99; the Audiovox 8615 flip phone at $129 and the Audiovox 8910 camera phone at $199 (manufacturer's suggested retail prices).
