Sprint has announced an entry level flip phone called the Sanyo SCP-2400. Despite basic but powerful features, the Sanyo SCP-2400 includes full parental control functionality. The free parental control functions of the Sanyo SCP-2400 allow parents to define who can call their children, and whom children can call themselves, in addition to controlling the use of data services through Sprint Vision. Once the parental controls are defined in the handset, a parent need only select the parental control icon from the main menu to lock up the phone.
Coming in five colors, the Sanyo SCP-2400 has a basic feature set (good for kids). No camera, the Sanyo SCP-2400 includes a speakerphone, Push-to-Talk, and voice dialing functions. A voice memo application is also included, as is a 300-name phonebook, calendar, alarm clock, and stop watch. The Sanyo SCP-2400 also supports Java games and applications.
